Canberra Netball Association (CNA) actively encourage all umpires to undertake education via Netball Australia's e-learning portal, MyNetball.  Whilst CNA offer many internal education programs (See our General Tab) please continue to the information below for official Courses.

Exam

It is an expectation that all umpires, regardless of age or experience, have completed the Rules of Theory Netball Examination to umpire in our competitions or participate in our programs. The exam tests the basic rules of the game and is accessible all year round. As of 2019, it now has a fee of $10. The exam requires a pass mark, minimum, of 70%. Once completed it provides you with a printable PDF certificate and will save the result in your MyNetball profile.

It is now a requirement for all badged umpires to complete the Examination every four years as part of their meeting current competencies.

To access to the Rules of Netball Theory Examination first sign into your MyNetball and click on the Learning Tab.

Course

The Foundation Umpire Education Course is completed online and is a pre-requisite for attaining a National C badge. It is an introductory course aimed at umpires seeking to develop their umpiring skills and move towards official accreditation. It is recommended that the examination be completed first and then the course once an umpire has gained some practical on court experience. The course can be completed in stages and accessed at a fee of $40.  Once completed it provides you with a printable PDF certificate and will save the result in your MyNetball profile.
