Getting Started

You've taken the first step.

If you have a team to umpire this season, the next step is to find a whistle and attend the next introduction to umpiring course.  This session is recommended for all beginning umpires, umpires refreshing their skills, umpires needing an update on the practical aspects of umpiring or anyone umpiring modified netball.

Next, get hold of the rules and sit the Section 1 Theory Exam.  You will also need to know the NetSetGo Modified rules if you are umpiring a team in the modified competition on Saturday mornings (for 8-10 year olds).

If you would like to umpire a competitive grade of netball on Saturdays and would like to join the Saturday umpire roster, please contact umpires.canberranetball@gmail.com

There are a range of opportunities available at Canberra Netball Association to further your umpiring and receive mentoring and support in your development.  For further information contact our 'Team White' umpires.canberranetball@gmail.com

CNA also invites umpires to become involved in the junior and senior representative programs which offer the opportunity for experience at carnivals, selection trials and match play.
